The ICGEB is an international, nonprofit research organization. Established as a special project of UNIDO, it became fully autonomous in 1994 and now counts over 60 Member States. The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology provides a scientific and educational environment of the highest standard and conducts innovative research in life sciences for the benefit of developing countries. It strengthens the research capability of its Members through training and funding programmes and advisory services and represents a comprehensive approach to promoting Biotechnology internationally.
Research Associate (RA) / Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions are available in the DBT-ICGEB Centre for Advanced Bioenergy Research. The positions are available initially for one year with annual extensions up to two years.
- Position 1 : RA

- Desired Profile : Ph.D. in Biotechnology, life sciences, Botany or other relevant field; Experience of handling algal
strains; Experience on working genetic transformation of algae

- Title of the project : Systems biology of microorganisms for improved biofuel production (Job Code: DBT-SS-RA)
- PI : Dr. Shireesh Srivastava
- Desired Profile : Ph.D. in engineering, Biotechnology, life sciences or other relevant field. Experience of handling bacteria/ cyanobacteria. Preference will be given to those with working experience with cyanobacteria. Familiarity with basic molecular biology and genetic engineering techniques is desired. Applicants with working knowledge of systems biology approaches such as metabolomics, genomics/ transcriptomics or Flux analysis will be preferred.

- Desired Profile : Ph.D. in Biotechnology, life sciences or other relevant field. Candidates with strong molecular biology background with fermentation technique along with the
handling of yeast and bacterial cultures will be preferred.
