Multiple opening for various research posts in multiple projects at Directorate of Rice Research, Hyderabad

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Formerly known as Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, it was established on 16 July 1929 as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in pursuance of the report of the Royal Commission on Agriculture. The ICAR has its headquarters at New Delhi.

Eligible candidates are invited to attend the Walk in Interview on 21.04.15 for the temporary positions of Research Associates/SRF/JRF/TA along with their original certificates of educational qualification etc to work under the adhoc research project at Directorate of Rice Research, Hyderabad 

  • Project detail : DBT project on : DBT programme support on development of sheath blight disease resistant transgenic rice:Resistance tests in PR-Protein-expressing transgenic rice and discovery of new RNA silencing strategies" funed by DBT
  • Position : SRF
  • No of Post : 1
  • Desired Profile :PhD or Master's in Plant Biotechnology/Plant molecular biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Plant-Breeding and Genetics/Botany. Two or three years research experience in genetic engineering or molecular breeding of plants with specialization in plant tissue culture, genetic transformation

    and gene expression studies

  • Preferred : Research experience in rice introgression, phenotypic and marker assisted selection, genotyping and knowledge of computer. Proven research experience in the form of research publications in the relevant area
  • Salary : Rs 16,000/- + 30% HRA

  • Preferred : NET qualification. Research experience in PCR/RT PCR, cloning. sequencing, knowledge of computer and Bioinformatics tools.
