The Public Petition dated 11-11-1839 initiated the establishment of Madras University.The University imparts both Under Graduate and Post Graduate Education through the Affiliated Institutions which are spread over the districts of Chennai, Thrivallur and Kancheepuram. Apart from teaching, research activities in Arts, Humanities, Science, Management and Technology are the main portals at the University.

- Duration : Initially for one year
- Desired Profile : M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry and have two years research experience with a minimum of one publication as first author.
- Emoluments : Rs. 28,000/per month and HRA as per ICMR norms
