Maharshi Dayanand University, ab initio established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976 with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand.

- Desired Profile : Doctorate/thesis submitted or equivalent degree OR having 3 years of research experience after MSc. The candidate should have minimum four international publications in peer-reviewed journals in Drosophila genetics research each having an impact factor of more than 1.5 (or cumulative impact factor more than 10).
- Preferred : Only candidates having three or four year regular research experience in ecological genetics ofDrosophilaneeds to apply. Candidates having research publication in the concerned field would also be preferred
- Age Limit: 35 years as on the last date of receiving application (5 years relaxation for female/SC/-ST/OBC candidates).
- Emoluments : Rs. 14000/- p.m. consolidated
