Job Description :
Multiple Industrial Postdoctoral opportunities are available for highly qualified personnel who has recently completed their PhDs in the below mentioned areas at GVK BioSciences. This opportunity exist as part of the Computational Biology and Drug Repurposing team where the individual would be playing a role identifying the drug, disease and target association using computational biology/chemistry tools & techniques. This fellowship allows recent PhD holders to acquire further training and knowledge in drug discovery, computational biology, computational chemistry and system biology related data analysis and biological interpretation skills. The individual will be working in complete informatics settings (no wet work) either independently or as a member of multidisciplinary team of Biologists, Computational Chemists, Pharmacologists, Computational Biologists and Software Professionals. The duration of the postdoctoral fellowship appoin tment is for one year with possibility of renewal based on the satisfactory performance and on-going operational needs. A possibility exists for highly qualified candidates to be continued as full time employee after completion of the specified term.
- Pharmacology/Biology (Job Code: PB-021) :
- Requires PhD in Pharmacology, Biology, Biochemistry, molecular biology or equivalent field
- Good understanding of drug discovery and development process is essential
- Experience in in-vitro/in-vivo experiments
- Experience of biological data analysis, interpretation and hypothesis generation
- Awareness or working experience with biological and chemical data analysis tools and databases is a must
2. Computational Biology (Job Code: CB-008):
- Requires PhD in Computational Biology or Bioinformatics or equivalent field
- Good scripting skills in one or more of the following – Perl, Python, JAVA, R, Shell etc..
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle/MySQL) and web application programming is essential
- Biological data analysis and interpretation skills are must.
- Experience with Bioinformatics analysis and algorithm development
- Well versed with publicly available Biological databases and tools
3. Computational Chemistry (Job Code: CC-011)
- Requires PhD in Computational Chemistry or Chemistry with special emphasis on computational skills or equivalent field
- Experience in computational approaches such as Pharmacophore modelling, QSAR, virtual screening, structural similarity is required to support the on-going research efforts
- Good scripting skills in one or more of the following – Perl, Python, JAVA, R, Shell etc..
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle/MySQL) and web application programming is beneficial
- Experience with commercial computational chemistry toolkits (ChemAxon, OpenEye and Software (Schrodinger)
- Well versed with publicly available Chemical databases and tools
4. Algorithm Development (Job Code: AD-004)
- Requires PhD in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or relevant areas
- Experience in dealing with Biological data, chemical data, and/or Medical data.
- Good programming command in one or more of the following – JAVA, Perl, Python, R, Shell etc..
- Demonstrated capabilities and hands-on experience in machine learning, text analytics, data integration, NLP and semantic search
- Ability to generate in-silico experimental workflows and in-depth knowledge in proprietary and public databases, methods and tools is a plus
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle/MySQL) and web application programming is beneficial
- Able to develop novel algorithms or implement known algorithms in pharmaceutical environment with special emphasis in drug discovery and development

Qualification & Experience Details : Ph.D in respective disciplines is a must.
