Notification for JRF/SRF vacancy in DBT/DST project at JNU, New Delhi

Jawaharlal Nehru University, also known as JNU, is a public central university in New Delhi, India. In 2012, The National Assessment and Accreditation Council gave the university a grade of 3.9 out of 4, the highest grade awarded to any educational institution in the country.University is organised into ten schools, each of which has several centres, as well as four independent special centres. The objective of the founders was to make the university a premier institution of higher learning and to promote research and teaching leading to the increasing engagement of its students and teachers in higher level academic work and national and international policy making.

  • Post :JRF/SRF
  • No of Post : Two
  • Project : 1. One in DBT project on "Structural and functional analysis of DprE1/DprE2 Enzymes involved in cell wall synthesis" and 2. Second position in DST project on on "Structural and functional analysis of M. tuberculosis vaccine candidate EspC Protein" at School of Life Sciences, Jawarharlal Nehru University
  • Desired Profile : For JRF: M.Sc in any branch of biological science with prior experience in structure and functional analysis of proteins.
  • Preference : M.Sc. plus two years experience. Proficiency in Gene cloning, Mutagensis, Protein expression in E. coli & Yeast system, Protein refolding & purification,

    Crystallization & X-ray structure analysis, Modeling & Dynamics simulation work. The candidate should be CSIR/UGC/NET qualified.

  • Fellowship : According to DBT/DST rules
  • Tenure : The position is purely temporary, renewable six months and will continue until 1 Jan, 2016 (the end of project) based on satisfactory performance.
