Saurashtra University, established on 23rd May, 1967, is situated in Rajkot city of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat State. The campus of the University is spread over 360 acres of land. The jurisdiction of the University includes Amreli, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Rajkot and Surendra Nagar districts. It has 28 Post graduate Departments on its campus and 320 affiliated colleges.
Applications are invited on plain paper with complete bio-data and attested copies of the relevant documents for the Project Fellows under the UGC-CAS programme on Arid Zone Biology. The programme involves extensive field based research in biodiversity, ecology and aspects of the bioresource utilization of arid zones of coastal Gujarat including Little Rann of Kutch.

- Desired Profile : M.Sc in Botany/Zoology/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biosciences with at lesat 55% marks or equivalent grade (50% for SC/ST/PH).
- Preferred : Candidates with UGC/CSIRNET and M.Phil 1-2 years research experience in the field work based research related to the theme of the CAS-Programme (as evident by the
research publications) will be preferred.
- Emoluments : Rs 16000/- pm + HRA for NET and Rs 14000/- pm + HRA for Non-NET candidates for the initial 2 years and Rs 18000/- pm + HRA for NET and Rs 16000/- + HRA for non-NET candidates on 3rd year onwards
The above positions are purely on temporary basis for the duration of five years or till the termination of the UGC-CAS Programme (Phase I), whichever is earlier. All other conditions for the above appointments will be as per the UGC/Saurastra University norms.
