Recruitment for SRF position via Walk in Interview in NBFGR coordinated project at CIBA

The Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA) is the nodal institute to cater to the needs of the brackishwater aquaculture sector of the country and has been a pioneer in nutrition and feed technology for brackishwater aquaculture. CIBA has developed indigenous shrimp feed technology for the tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) and successfully commercialized the technology to private entrepreneurs for commercial production

The following post is to be filled purely on temporary basis under a NFDB funded project, coordinated by NBFGR, Lucknow

  • Position :Senior Research Fellow (SRF) – one post
  • Project Name : National Surveillance Programme for Aquatic Animal Diseases 
  • Duration : Three years / co-terminus with the project
  • Desired Profile : 1st class Master’s degree in Microbiology/Fisheries Science/ Aquaculture / Fish Pathology/Biotechnology/Marine Zoology/ Zoology/ Environmental Science/ Life Sciences 
  • Preferred : Proficiency in regional languages like Tamil/Telugu, short term working experience in aquaculture related

    research projects, good command in English, and operational skill in computer.Experience in molecular based diagnostic work in reputed laboratory.

  • Emoluments : Rs.16,000/-+30% HRA for the first and second year and Rs.18,000/- + 30% HRA from third year onwards.
  • Nature of Work : Place of posting will be at CIBA, Chennai. Work involves extensive field trips, liaison with stakeholders, disease surveillance and investigations in aquaculture fields of coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, database development and laboratory analysis. SRF selected under the project can register for Ph. D (under Madras University) in the field of surveillance related topics or disease diagnostic related topics only
  • Age Limit : Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on date of interview.  

Eligible Candidates may appear for the Walk-in-interview with original Master’s Degree Certificate, passport size photograph, bio-data enclosing attested copies of educational qualification and experience certificates, No Objection Certificate from the previous employer, if any.TA / DA will not be paid for attending the interview. Selected candidates need to join for duty immediately. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
