The institute had a humble beginning in 1954 in the form of a Contraceptive Testing Unit. Over the years, the Institute has made significant strides to develop newer contraceptives, both for the male and the female; generate information on the safety, efficacy and acceptability of available contraceptives in Indian population; and elucidate basic mechanisms underlying reproductive physiology.

- Project title : “MULTICENTRIC COLLABORATIVE STUDY OF THE CLINICAL BIOCHEMICAL AND MOLECULAR CHARACERIZATION BY LYSOSOMAL STORAGE DISORDERS IN INDIA”
- Position : Research Associate
- No of Post : One
- Salary : Rs 23000/- + 30% HRA
- Desired Profile : Ph.D. in relevant subject with
upto three years post-doctoral research
- Preferred : Laboratory experience in molecular biology
- Age Limit : 40 years (in case of woman candidate the upper age limit is relaxed by two years
- Duration : Initially for one year
