Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) is one amongst the 38 national laboratories of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and is its youngest laboratory. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the area of Biotechnology, the Institute occupies an area of about 47 acres, of which the labs cover 22 acres and the residential campus, 25 acres.
CSIR- Institute of Microbial Technology, Sector-39/A, Chandigarh desires to engage JRF (Project) on purely temporary basis on contract under DST sponsored project at CSIR-IMTECH. However, the number of positions may vary depending upon the requirement of the Institute.

- Desired Profile : 1st class M.Sc in Life Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, molecular biology, Biochemistry with JRFNET qualification//M.Tech in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering with JRFNET qualification OR B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech with GATE.
- Amount : Rs. 16000/- P.M plus 20% HRA (Without NET/
GATE the fellowship amount is Rs.12,000/- p.m )
- Maximum age as on 28.01.2015 : 28 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/ OBC and Women candidate as per Govt. of India/CSIRs instructions
- Duration : 7 months
