Walk in Interview
For the contractual Position of RA/JRF/SRF

The following contractual posts are to be filled under different DBT‘s funded projects at NIHSAD,
Bhopal. General guidelines of Contractual employment of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India will be followed.

PROJECT 1: BBSRC-DBT sponsored Indo-UK Collaborative project with Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, UK, titled "Identification of molecular basis of differential host response to rapidly evolving Avian influenza viruses in different avian species".

• Name of Post : RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
• No of Post : 1 (One)
• Duration : 3 years (From date of start of project and co-terminus with the project)
• Qualifications : Ph.D or M.V.Sc/M. Tech/M. Sc with 3 years experience in one of the following disciplines. (Biotechnology/molecular biology/ Genetics/Microbiology/Virology/ Bioinformatics or any equivalent Life Sciences discipline)
• Desirable : The candidates should be highly motivated for doing research in infectious
• disease biology and should have strong background in handling tools of molecular
• biology, virology, cell culture, lab animal experiments with basic knowledge of hostpathogen
• interaction.
• Emolument  : 22000 + 20% HRA (Under revision as per DBT guidelines)
• Age Limit : 40 years for men and 45 years for women.

PROJECT 2 : DBT funded North Eastern Region Biotechnology Program titled ‘DBT-NER Center for Advanced Animal Diagnostics and Services on Animal Health and Diseases (ADSAHD)’ (Duration 5 years)

PROJECT 3 : DBT-NER Twining Project on ‘Viral Metagenomics profiling of native and migratory aquatic birds of North-Eastern states to unravel influenza virus ecology harbored in them’. (Duration 3 years)

• Name of Post  : JRF/SRF
• No of Post  : 2 (One in each of above project)
• Duration  : 5 years for Project 2 and 3 years for Project 3 (From date of start of project and coterminus with the project)
• Qualifications : Essential Degree: M.V.Sc or M.Tech/M.Sc in one of the following disciplines.(Biotechnology/molecular biology/ Genetics /Microbiology/Bioinformatics or any other Life Science discipline)

• Desirable :

1. NET qualified (UGC/ICAR/ICMR/CSIR). The candidates should have strong background in handling tools of molecular biology, virology, cell culture, lab animal experiments with basic knowledge of host-pathogen interaction.
2. Also, candidates with experience in Diagnostic Realtime PCR, Expression of recombinant proteins and Infectious Disease Diagnosis will be preferred (Project 2).
3. Proven experience in handling Bioinformatics tools and analysis of genomics and HTSdata (Project 3).

• Emoluments : JRF (1st and 2nd year): Rs. 16,000 + HRA (20%) if the candidate has qualified NET/GATE/BET/BINC. If not, the emoluments will be Rs. 12,000 + HRA (@ 20%).
• SRF (3rd year) : Rs. 18,000 + HRA (@ 20%) if the candidate has qualified NET/GATE/BET/BINC. If not, the emoluments will be Rs. 14,000 + HRA (@ 20%). (Under revision as per DBT guidelines)
• Age Limit : 30 years for men and 35 years for women.

• DBT-NER-ADSAHD Project (JRF/SRF) : 12th January , 2015 at 10.00 am
• DBT3 -NER-Twining -Viral Metagenomics Project (JRF/SRF) : 12th January , 2015 at 10.00 am

NB :

• Candidates will have to appear in an on-spot written test before qualifying for the interview.
• The candidates should be present at the venue 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Bio-data
• (Two sets) in prescribed proforma along with the original certificates/documents including N.O.C from his/her
• employer should be presented at the time of interview.

Terms & conditions:-

1. General DBT guidelines for Contractual Employment will be applicable.
2. Age relaxation will be admissible to SC/ST and OBC candidates as per Govt of India rules.
3. All the candidates appearing for walk in interview should be present at venue 30 minutes before the
4. scheduled time, candidates coming thereafter will not be allowed for interview.
5. Candidates failing to provide the necessary documents verifying their eligibility will not be allowed to
6. appear for interview.
7. No objection certificate from employer should be produced at the time of interview in case he/she is
8. employed elsewhere.
9. The engagement of RA/JRF/PA will be on temporary basis and the selected candidates shall not have
10. any right to claim for regular appointment under NIHSAD, Bhopal (M.P) and his/her engagement will be
11. terminated immediately after expiry of the project without any notice and this Institute will hold no
12. responsibility for payment of salary/regular appointment etc. after expiry/termination of the project.
13. Candidates selected will be employed initially for 3 months and the employment will be further
14. extended for the duration of project based on their performance.
15. No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for attending the interview.
16. Experience certificate in original, if any, should be produced at the time of interview.
17. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidates.
18. The decision of the Director, NIHSAD, Bhopal will be final in selection.
19. Only those who are interested to serve at least for a period of one year considering present duration of project may attend the interview.
