Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research originated as École de Médicine de Pondichérry established by the French Government in the year 1823. This medical school was converted into Dhanvantari Medical College at the time of de facto transfer of Pondicherry to Government of India. This Medical College was later upgraded into Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).
Applications are invited for the following position under DST- SERB-Start-Up Research Grant (Young Scientists):
- Position : JRF
- No of Post : One
- Project title : “Association of Vitamin D and related variables with postpartum depression in South Indian women”
- Tenure : Period of 1 year (likely to be extended beyond 1 year based on satisfactory performance). The post is purely temporary in nature, co-terminus with the project.
- Desired Profile : M. Sc or equivalent degree Biotechnology/ molecular biology/ Genetics/ Life sciences /Medical Biochemistry/ MLT/ with at least 60% marks and NET qualified OR BE/ BTech
or equivalent degree in Biotechnology with at least 60% marks and GATE qualified OR MSc/ M.Tech or equivalent degree in Biotechnology with at least 60% marks
- Preferred : Candidates with experience in PCR, Real Time PCR, DNA sequencing and able to speak Tamil will be given preference
- Stipend : Consolidated salary of Rs. 16,000/- + 10% HRA as per DST guidelines
