Research Training Workshop on
Understanding Human Disease and Improving Human Health Using Genomics-Driven
Approaches
at the Department of Biotechnology, Assam University, Silchar
- This training workshop co-organized by the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani, and the Department of Biotechnology, Assam University, Silchar, is a part of an initiative undertaken by NIBMG and supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, on “Enhancing Capacity in Genomics-Driven Research on Human Health and Disease in the North-Eastern Region.”
- This initiative aims to empower early- and mid-career scientists working in institutions in the North-Eastern Region (NER) with state-of-the-art genetic and genomic concepts, methods and tools required for undertaking globally-competitive research on human health and disease of relevance to the NER.
- In the current Workshop, classroom and hands-on training will be provided on molecular analysis of clinical samples, epigenetic and RNA analyses and functional genomics
- The number of participants is restricted to 50.
- Selected participants from this Workshop will be invited to participate in an
advanced level Workshop to be held subsequently at NIBMG, Kalyani.
- Travel reimbursement (up to AC II tier rail fare), board and lodging will be provided to participants

Who Can Apply : Senior students, young post-docs and junior faculty members who are engaged in research in human disease genomics in NER institutions
