Patient and Medical Care
- Meet all patients individually before they start on dialysis therapy, after understanding their individual medical conditions and prescribed treatment from the respective doctor
- Investigate the current eating habits; recommend a dietary plan that would address the medical and nutritional needs; and would supplement their treatment
- Counsel and educate them on the benefits of following the prescribed diet
- Monitor patients diets continuously; have regular meetings to ensure that they are following the prescribed diet
- Handle patients in the OPD; educate and advise them with diet- related disorders on the practical ways in which they can improve their health by adopting healthier eating habits
- Calculate patients' nutritional requirements using standard equations based on assessments of blood chemistry, temperature, stress, mobility and other relevant factors
- Analyze the nutritional content of food ( including new products)
- Work along with a multidisciplinary team in the facility to gain patients' co- operation in following recommended dietary treatments; educating other healthcare professionals ( doctors, nurses and dialysis therapists) about food and nutrition issues
Process and Quality :
- Update patients diet history and relevant data in Electronic Medical Reports and/ or specific files for current and future reference.
- Maintain Investigation chart for individual patients; ensure updation of records in the chart after every meeting
- Ensure adherence to NABH standards and other relevant quality standards in all processes.
Eligiblity : B.sc/ M.Sc Food technology/ Microbiology
Experience : 1-3 years
