National Research Centre on Seed Spices research is mainly concentrated on development of high yielding varieties with high essential oil content and resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. The Institute has already developed 11 varieties of 8 seed spice crops. Controlling cumin wilt and blight diseases is now receiving major attention. Besides these, agronomic practices are also being standardized for different crops. Research work has also started in Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology, Soil Science and Entomology.
A walk-in-interview is scheduled to be held at NRCSS, Ajmer on 03.12.2014 at 11-00 AM for the following temporary positions.

- Horticulture (one post) : Master Degree in Horticulture from a recognized university.
- Plant Breeding & Genetics/ Pl. breeding/ Biotechnology (two post) : Master Degree in Plant Breeding & Genetics/ Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology from recognized university.
- Plant Pathology/ Microbiology (one post) : Master Degree in Plant Pathology/ Microbiology from a recognized university.
- Ag. Extension/Ag. Economics (one post) : Master Degree in Ag. Extension/ Ag. Economics from a recognized university.
- Agronomy (one post) : Master Degree in Agronomy from a recognized university.
- Post Harvest Management/Food Technology (one post) : Master Degree in Post Harvest Management/Food Technology from a recognized university.
- Fellowship : Rs. 16000/- per month + HRA (as per rules) for 1st year & 2nd year; Rs. 18000/- per month + HRA (as per rules) for 3rd year
- Duration : Up to March, 2015 but likely to continue
- Age limit : Maximum 35 years for men and 40 for women as on 03.12.2014
