Temporary research position in "Rotavirus project" at Tezpur University

Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology.

Applications are invited for Walk-in-Interview for the following temporary positions in the DBT-Twining sponsored project entitled “Molecular Epidemiology of Group A Rotavirus (RVA) Infections in the North-Eastern Region (NER)” under Dr. N.D Namsa, Assistant Professor, Department of MBBT, Tezpur University and Principal Investigator.

• Position :Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
• No. of Positions : One (01)
• Qualification : M.Sc in Biotechnology/Life Sciences with adequate knowledge in molecular biology/Virology Techniques will be given preference. NET/GATE qualified candidate with interest to pursue Ph.D shall be given preference.

• Fellowship : Rs. 16,000/- (Rupees Sixteen Thousand) only per month plus 10% HRA as admissible for the first and second year and Rs. 18,000/- (Rupees Eighteen Thousand) only plus 10% HRA as admissible for the third year for the NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualified candidate. Rs. 12,000/- (Rupees Twelve Thousand) only plus 10% HRA as admissible for the first and second year and Rs. 14,000/- (Rupees Fourteen Thousand) only plus 10% HRA as admissible for the third year for the candidate with NET-LS or without NET/BET/GATE
• Duration : Three (03) years or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.

• Position : Project Assistant (PA)
• No. of Positions : One (01)
• Qualification :M.Sc in Biotechnology/Life Sciences with adequate knowledge in molecular biology/Virology Techniques will be given preference. NET/GATE qualified candidate with interest to pursue Ph.D shall be given preference.
• Fellowship : Rs. 8,000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand) only per month.
• Duration : Three (03) years or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
• Age : Candidate should not be more than 28 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit shall be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Challenged applicants
