Walk in Interview for various research post at RPRC, Bhubaneswar

Regional Plant Resource Centre was established in 1985 as a recreational garden and with an aim to provide a green lung for the inhabitants of Bhubaneswar – the capital city of Orissa. Gradually it became a dynamic and vibrant research organization of the State Government with a focus on the conservation of plant biodiversity. Over the year, it has made significant contributions in the field of ex situ and in situ conservation and assessment of genetic diversity of various groups of plants and its related aspects.

Candidates having essential qualification and experience are invited for the Walk-in-Interview at 11.00 A. M .on 18/10/2014 in Dr. P.K. Parija Hall of Regional Plant resource Centre, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, for engagement of Junior Research Fellow under different projects funded by State Govt./Odisha Biodiversity Board. The candidate should bring with him /her brief bio-data in original and Xerox copies of certificates in support of their educational qualifications and experience and other documents for verification at the time of interview. The candidate should mention the name of the project he/she is interested at the time of registration. No. TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview. Details of the projects and required qualifications & experience are as follows.

  • Project : Qualitative and quantitative assessment of Plant biodiversity (Angiosperms and Pteridophytes) of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation area with emphasis on identification of important species and habitats of conservation concern (funded by Odisha Biodiversity Board)
  • Position : SRF/JRF
  • No of Post : One
  • Desired Profile : For SRF : M. Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology with good academic record and at least two years of research experience in biodiversity inventories/field based research; For JRF: M.Sc.(Botany/ Biotechnology) with good academic record
  • Stipend : Rs.14000/-per month (Consolidated) for SRF Rs. 12000/- per month consolidated for JRF
  • Project : Cloning and functional validation of salinity tolerant genes from mangrove plants of Odisha (Funded under State-Plan projects of F &E Dept, Govt. of Odisha
  • Position :JRF
  • No of Post : One
  • Desired Profile : M.Sc. in Botany/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/ molecular biology/ Cytogenetics with good academic record
  • Stipend : Rs.12000/-per month (Consolidated)
