The institute had a humble beginning in 1954 in the form of a Contraceptive Testing Unit. Over the years, the Institute has made significant strides to develop newer contraceptives, both for the male and the female; generate information on the safety, efficacy and acceptability of available contraceptives in Indian population; and elucidate basic mechanisms underlying reproductive physiology. 

Applications are invited through Walk-in-Interview on 22-10-2014  between 09:00 hrs. and 12:00 hrs. for the following vacancies under Non-Institutional ad-hoc project.

• Title of project : PREMATURE MENOPAUSE IN NORTH EAST : A RISK FACTORS EVALUATION STUDY.
• Position :JRF
• No of Post : One
• Salary : Rs. 16,000/- + 30% HRA p.m. for NET / GATE / BET / BINC qualified / SLET otherwise shall be Rs. 12000/- + 30% HRA

• Desired Profile : First Class M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Zoology from recognized university.
• Preferred : Experience in elisa, DNA isolation and Gel electrophoresis will be preferred.
• Age : Not exceeding 28 Years
• Duration : Upto September 2016
