The PAU has played a key role in increasing food grain production in the Punjab State several folds share its reputation and ushering in an era of Green Revolution in India. It has also made notable contributions in increasing livestock and poultry production. Applications are invited from the candidates including Kashmiri Migrants for admission to Ph.D. programmes on All India Basis in the following disciplines for the academic session 2014-15:Agronomy, Biotechnology, Entomology, Extension Education, Food Technology, Horticulture (Floriculture & Landscaping),Horticulture (Fruit Science), Horticulture (Vegetable Science), Plant Breeding & Genetics, Plant Pathology, Soil Science, Food & Nutrition, Biochemistry, Botany,Microbiology,Zoology.
- Minimum Qualification : An Overall Credit Point Average (OCPA) of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level in the respective or related discipline and an OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or equivalent at the Bachelor’s level. 5% marks are reduced for candidates belonging to reserved categories i.e.SC and BC.
- The prospectus alongwith application form can be obtained from the Additional Director of Communication, Centre for Communication and International Linkages, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, either by sending Bank Draft for Rs. 1550/- drawn in his favour and payable at any scheduled Bank at Ludhiana or personally at the counter on a payment of Rs. 1450/- in cash from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days. The Prospectus alongwith application forms will be sent by post. The University will not be responsible for postal delay or loss in transit. The application form can also be downloaded from University website. The download application forms be submitted with a bank draft of Rs. 3950/-. The application forms purchased from the counter be submitted alongwith bank draft of Rs. 2600/- drawn in the favour of Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana payable at Ludhiana. The last date for the receipt of applications in the office of the Registrar is 17.10.2014 without late fee and 24.10.2014 with late fee of Rs. 1000/-.
- Incomplete applications/applications received without entrance test fee or the applications received after the prescribed date shall not be entertained.
Note : Ph.D. students will be sent for studying one semester to other universities/institutes during the 1st Semester (within 15 calendar days) from the start of the semester of their admission from the departments/disciplines of Agronomy, Entomology, Soil Science, Microbiology, Horticulture (Fruit Science), Horticulture (Vegetable Science), Food & Nutrition.
