The institute had a humble beginning in 1954 in the form of a Contraceptive Testing Unit. Over the years, the Institute has made significant strides to develop newer contraceptives, both for the male and the female; generate information on the safety, efficacy and acceptability of available contraceptives in Indian population; and elucidate basic mechanisms underlying reproductive physiology. 

Applications are invited through Walk-in-Interview on 30-09-2014 between 09:00 hrs. and 12:00 hrs. for the following vacancies under Non-Institutional ad-hoc projects.

• Title : DEVELOPMENT OF SCYLLA SERRATA ANTI-LIPOPOLYSACHARIDE FACTOR-24, (SSALF24) AS SAFE VAGINAL MICROBICIDE.
• Position : JRF
• No of Post : One
• Stipend : Rs. 16,000/- + 30% HRA p.m. OR Rs. 12,000 p.m. + 30% HRA for Post Graduate (PG) Degree in Basic Science who have NET qualified for lectureships

• Desired Profile : M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biochemistry /Zoology / Microbiology M. Pharma from recognized university and NET/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF qualified OR Post graduate degree in Biological sciences and NET qualified for lectureship.
• Preferred : Experience in molecular biology / Microbiology /Toxicology Techniques and handling of laboratory animals.
• Age : 28 years
• Duration : One year

• Title : IN-SILICO MOLECULAR DESIGN OF ANTI-HIV MICROBICIDES AND PRE-CLINICAL EVALUATION
• Position : JRF
• No of Post : Two
• Stipend : Rs. 16,000/- + 30% HRA p.m.
• Desired Profile : M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences /Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Zoology / Microbiology from recognized university and ICMR/CSIR/UGC NET qualified or equivalent examinations and have a valid certificate.

• Preferred : Candidates with 1-2 years of experience in cell culture and molecular biology technique will be preferred.
• Age : 28 years
• Duration : One year

• Title : TARGETED BIOFILM CONTROL: IMPLICATIONS FOR THE PREVENTION OF RECURRENT BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS
• Position :JRF
• No of Post : One
• Stipend : Rs. 16,000/- + 30% HRA p.m. OR Rs. 12,000 p.m. + 30% HRA for Post Graduate (PG) Degree in Basic Science who have NET qualified for lectureships.
• Desired Profile :M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Zoology / Microbiology from recognized university and NET/ ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF qualified OR Post graduate degree in Biological sciences and NET qualified for lectureship.
• Preferred : Candidates with 1-2 years of experience in Microbiology and molecular biology techniques will be preferred
• Age : 28 years
• Duration : One year and 10 months
