The CSIR- North East Institute of Science and Technology, formerly(RRL) , Jorhat was established in the year 1961 as one of the multidisciplinary laboratories of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research(CSIR) under its Chemical Science Group of laboratories. Its major thrust of R&D activities has been to develop indigeneous technologies by utilising the immense natural wealth of India. The North Eastern Region of the country being bestowed with an abundance of material resources like petroleum, natural Gas, Minerals, Tea as well as aromatic and Medicinal plants and hence the laboratories was targeted to undertake research for development of Know-How for a wide a range of industries and extension works.

- Area : Basic Sciences
- Sl. No. 02 : Ph D in Agricultural Science/Biotechnology/ Microbiology/molecular biology with M.Sc in Biological science
- Sl. No. 05 :M.Sc with CSIR-UGC-NET(JRF)/ CSIR-UGC-NET(LS) or 1st Class M.Sc in Biotechnology, Botany/ Life Sciences with specialization in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Entomology/Microbiology/molecular biology/Pharmacology/ Physiology/ Taxonomy or Zoology with specialization in Entomology or in Environmental Science
General terms and conditions : The engagement will be purely on temporary basis for specific period. It is co-terminus along with the duration of the project and will not confer any right for regularization in the institute. The Project Workers may be allowed to do his/her Ph D work based on CSIR guidelines. The candidates should have knowledge of computer for day to day work. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for the interview
