ICAR Sponsored Short Course on
Molecular Approaches for Diagnosis of Animal Cancers 
and Strategies for Developing Cancer Vaccines

  • About the Course: The course is aimed to provide hands-on training on various techniques used in cancer research such as bio-informatics tools in cancer genomics, identification of cancer molecular markers using PCR and real-time PCR; biosensor approaches and enzyme based immunoassays for identifying serum cancer biomarkers; microarray based gene expression profiling; FISH, IHC, FNAC and histopathology for cancer diagnosis; surgical and other modalities for cancer treatment; designing and delivery of siRNA for cancer therapy; developing mouse tumour model for in vivo delivery of drugs or therapeutic gene constructs and analyzing their effects on tumour regression and B & T cell immune responses; development of gene constructs for cancer immunotherapy and strategies for developing cancer vaccines; designing and delivery of peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) to cancer cells; synthetic peptide based targeted delivery of biomolecules; nanotechnology approaches in cancer diagnosis and therapy etc.
  • Eligibility : The candidates holding the rank of Assistant Professor/Scientist and above or equivalent in the National Agricultural Research System (NARS) including State Agricultural Universities, Deemed Universities, Central Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Agricultural and Allied Science Faculties of other Universities, and possessing Master's or Doctoral degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Sciences, Agricultural and Allied Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences and relevant basic sciences are el igible to apply for the short course.
  • Application Procedure : Interested participants must apply online CBP vortal at www.iasri.res.in/cbp. Participants have to create an account on the CBP site ans then using the login id, enter into system to apply online for the training program. After filling the application, a printout of the application form should be duly approved by the competent authority of the organization and the scanned copy of approved application must be uploaded using CBP portal and send by postal/email to the course director or course coordinator. In case of any difficulties in applying through CBP portal, the participants may send the filled application form duly approved by the competent authority in the format given in the brochure to the course director on the given address. The selected participant will have to pay Rs50/- as registration fee at the time of their registration in the short course.
