The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB) is one of the Fifteen higher Institutes of Technology in the country set up with the objective of making available facilities for higher education, research and training in various fields of Science and Technology. The Institute on an average admits 880 candidates for the undergraduate programme through Joint Entrance Exam(JEE), 280 candidates for 2 Year M.Sc. programmes, 1000 candidates for different postgraduate programmes and 450 for Ph.D programmes every year.
Positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Research Associate (RA), Senior Research Fellow (SRF), Project Research Assistant (PRA), Assistant Project Manager (APM), Project Software Engineer (PSE1) are available in the following projects.
- Project : Study of Microtubule associated Proteins in Yeast
- Position :JRF
- Desired Profile : MSc in Biotechnology, Microbiology, molecular biology, genetics or Biochemistry, M. Tech in Biotechnology. More than 80% marks in Masters degree and more than 70% marks in bachelor degree
- Research experience : Six months to one year. Experience of work on budding yeast will be preferred.
- Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.16000/- p.m.
- Job Profile : Research work involving techniques in molecular biology, Cell Biology, genetics and Biochemistry.
- Project : Dissection of Structure Function Correlation of an Allosteric Signal Transducer of the Gal Genetic Switch of Saccharomyces cerevisiae using Experiment and Computational Approach
- Position : RA: (1 Post)
- Desired Profile : A fresh PhD or M.Sc/MPharma/ME/MTech with experience of at least three years in molecular biology with proficiency in yeast genetics
- Salary : Consolidated salary Rs. 22000/- p.m.
- Project : Kinetics of Nucleosome Positioning
- Position : RA : (1 Post)
- Desired Profile : PhD in molecular biology
- Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.22000/- p.m.
- Project : Computational Study of Cargo Switching at Cytoskeletal Filament Intersection
- Position : JRF
- Desired Profile : M.Sc. in Physics/Biophysics or related disciplines with DST INSPIRE fellowship to persue PhD.
- Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.16000/- p.m.
- Job Profile : Applicant will develop physical/computational models using data from single molecule experiments. Prior experience of programming in Fortran/C/C++/Java /Matlab is preferred.
The positions are temporary initially for a period of one year and tenable only for the duration of project.
