National Level Workshop on Biostatistics and Its
Applications in Biomedical Research
March 24th - 28th, 2014
Organized By
Biomedical Informatics Centre (BMIC)
National Institute of Nutrition , Hyderabad

The world is becoming more and more quantitative and data focused. Many professions depend on numerical measurements to make decisions in the face of uncertainty. Large volumes of data are being generated for biomedical research purposes using ultra-high-throughput assays and technologies such as gene expression microarrays  and proteomics platforms. Informatics helps scientists to make sense of all this data and  thereby plays a critical role in expediting the application of research findings from the bench  to bedside. Many statisticians use quantitative abilities, statistical knowledge and communication skills to work on numerous challenging problems in biostatistics and allied  areas. This exciting and versatile discipline is contributing to all fields of medical research and evidence-based healthcare and nutrition.

  • About the Workshop : Biostatistics is rapidly emerging to play in biomedcial research in recent years. This workshop is designed to cover the concepts of basic and advanced biostatistical methods applicable to biomedical scientists. It is intended to stimulate interest in the minds of researchers and to help them enhance the quality of their research process. The five day workshop will be interactive in nature and various domain experts from different parts of the country will handle the sessions.
